Just as in the Lady’sNewsies golf tournament in the spring when a very good male golfer volunteers to hit a drive on a specific hole for a donation of $5.00 to the Newsies, Lisa Dyer volunteered to hit drives from the Lady’s tee on hole #6 for a donation to the Newsies of $5.00. Any golfer ‘hiring’ Lisa could use her drive or use his own from about 100 yards back.
Stephanie Griffith, of Max and Erma’s, volunteered to sell chances for Max & Erma’s cookies. Golfer’s donating $5.00 to Newsies had a chance to win one dozen cookies of choice merely by landing his drive on the short par-3 #5.
